Bit of Happy #7: It’s Not Always What Meets the Eye

“The best and most beautiful things cannot be seen or heard, but must be felt with the heart.”
-Helen Keller

Here are TEN WAYS to experience the best and most beautiful things in life:

1.  Put a smile on. Something as simple as smiling can warm your heart and inspire others to do the same.

2.  A little thought can go a long way. Send a ‘Thinking of You’ card or some flowers to a distant family member is the perfect way to raise spirits.

3. Reach out to those in need. Donate money to a charity, take part in a service project, volunteer at a local soup kitchen or other cause.

4. Offer a listening ear. Sometimes you don’t even have to say anything. Just listen to a friend, family member or co-worker’s hardships and show support.

5.  Take a moment. Watch the sunset, soak up your surroundings, breathe in the gentle breeze. Little moments like this can make you feel alive again.

6.  Forgive and move forward. Forgiveness isn’t always easy, but it will free your heart so you can find peace.

7.  Send a loving reminder. It’s the little things that mean the most – call a loved one you just to say ‘I love you.’ Giving and receiving love is the best gift you can give for free.

8.  Express your thankfulness. Showing others that you appreciate them and all that they do for you makes them feel good about themselves, and makes you feel good too.

9.  Lend a helping hand. Hold open the door or help carry groceries to someone’s car – the little time it takes to help others makes big impact.

10.  Show the Earth some love. Plant a tree or garden in your yard or community.
