Bit of Happy #62: An Irresistible Love

8 Dec

My little sweetheart, Annie.

“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.”
-Anatole France

Ever since I was little, I always dreamed of having a dog of my own; fish just didn’t seem to cut it. Oh yeah, and my parents let me get two hermit crabs once, and trust me, I could have done without that experience.

Anyways, a few days after my 13th birthday, my family surprised me with a puppy of my own – a dachshund (in the picture above). I fell in love at the first sight of her. She was so tiny. So timid. When I first met her, she just sat very quietly, taking in all of her surroundings.

Now, at eight-years-old with her lay of the land, Annie barks at every waking moment, begs irresistibly and is constantly under my feet. But guess what? I love her to death… with all of her quirks included. She’s my sidekick. My buddy. My baby.

Inspired by the above photograph, I wanted to share this quote with you today. One that I found incredibly relatable. And if I’m guessing correctly, probably not only relatable to me, but you as well!

I’d love to see your pets, so send in some pictures! Email LittleBitsOfHappyBlog@gmail.com with an attached photograph, your name and the name of your furry, little (or BIG) friend. In fact, I’ll post them up on this entry as they come in!

Happy Wednesday!
